The Sun and the Sea
Ebbing swell laps like a lullaby against the crystalline sands
Adorned by vibrant shells glistening from sunlight above
As my fingers hover across the mossy weeds left ashore
Thoughts lend themselves to the Sun, the Sea, and love…
What gloom must he harbor within his striking flare
For lonesome he rests upon his perch, only a glance
At his dearest who parts her aquamarine lips in wait
for him to descend and conclude his daytime dance
Extending his arms and augmenting his flames ablaze
Tints the skies a passionate brew of fiery shades
She, with a smile, sweeps the evening breeze clean
Invites her love closer with a flick of her cerulean braids
The clouds arch towards their meet at the horizon
Forming a smoky wreath around the two as they near
Her soft voice calls for him, waves frothing restlessly
And he inches closer, anticipation a burden to bear
The moment’s intensity beckons stars from the night
To glimpse his burning cheeks caress her silken face
Blushing smiles cast scarlet across the fading horizon
As he burns out with a sigh, locked in her loving embrace
So with teary eyes I rest my head on the shifting sand
Black bleeding from the sky as lovers are lost in the night
I dream of other unseen spectacles that transpire around
And await dawn when again the Sun would shine its light
